Mauna Kea - Days Until Christmas Sale

Each Friday until Christmas I'll feature a crochet pattern! Today's crochet sale pattern is Mauna Kea!

Mauna Kea is begins with the crochet brim, worked from side to side, fastened off, then seamed into a ring. The rise of the hat is worked along the side edge of the brim, back and forth, joining the end of the round to the beginning, then turning. A decrease round is worked, then stitches are gathered to join.

Yarn Requirements:
Shown in Manos del Uruguay's Wool Clasica Naturals yarn (100% wool; 100 gram hank = approx 138 yards)
1 (1, 2, 2, 2) hanks in color 703, or approx 90 (130, 169, 210, 250) yards in a comparable earth-friendly yarn.

Crochet Hooks:
One each size US H/8 and I/9 (5 and 5.5 mm)
Or size to obtain gauge.

Gauge: 
 15 sts and 9 rows = 4" [10 cm ]in half double crochet, through the back loop with smaller hook. Take time to save time, check your gauge.
